Miss Mandi has been dancing for 26 years, 6 years of competition,
5 years of assisting and 15 years as a teacher. . As a student, she participated in dance competitions and attended multiple dance workshops in Iowa, Minnesota, and Florida for 6 years. As an adult she continues to attend yearly national dance conventions. Currently, Mandi is working on her certification for Dance2Fit, and is excited to offer those classes to Showtime parents and other community members in the near future! Miss Mandi loves being able to continue to learn and grow as a dancer. She especially loves teaching her students and challenging them to do their best. Typically, she has taught our older students but has recently started working with some of our younger age groups. Miss Mandi is looking forward to getting to know the students in her new classes and is excited to start another season of dance at Showtime!
Meet the Owner
Miss Carlene created Showtime 36 years ago in the old Betty May Harris Studio, in the Hotel Pattee. Dancing since age seven, her edu- cation includes: College at St. Teresa in Minnesota, and a BA form Dance Educators of America, through the University of Western Kentucky at Bowling Green, Kentucky. Carlene can always be found making whatever she is doing into a dance, it is truly apart of her life. In 2018, Carlene also tested in Acrobatic Arts. Carlene is an active member in Dance Masters of Mid America, Chapter # 34. Dance Masters is a national accredited and tested association.
Meet the Teachers
Miss Cori has been dancing for 22 years. Cori participated in dance team while she was in High School for all 4 years. This is Cori’s 11th year teaching at Showtime. She brings her passion for dance to our studio by choreographing for all ages of our students. Cori attends yearly national dance workshops to keep current on her choreography.
Erica Hoskins
Miss Erica has danced for 15 years at showtime, has been teaching for 4 years, and choreographs our hip-hop and pom dances. While she attend Iowa Central Community College she was a member of the nationally ranked dance team for 2 years. She also was a member of the dance team at Grand View University for 2 years. Shortly after graduating, she accepted a position at Urbandale High School as the assistant cheer coach for 2 years.
Ciera Bronnenberg danced with showtime for 14 years taking lyrical, jazz, tap, ballet, musical theatre, hip hop, and pom. This is Ciera’s 4th year teaching. She also danced on the Perry High School Pulse Dance Team for 3 years, qualifying for the All Iowa Honor Dance Team twice. After graduating high school, Ciera attended the University of Iowa for dance focusing especially on jazz, ballet, and modern dance. She is now majoring in Elementary. Ciera is thrilled to be back in the studio this year teaching kids to love dance as much as she does.
Miss Tara has danced with Showtime for 35 years, with 24 years as an assistant and 21 years as a teacher. Tara has attended numerous conven- tions, workshops, college level dance classes and has danced in the Nut- cracker Ballet in Ames for 11 years. Currently, Tara is working as an Ele- mentary Special Education Teacher for the Ankeny School District. She has an excellent ability and patience to work with children.
Alexandra Thilges
Alex danced with Showtime for 16 years. During her time at Showtime she took ballet, tap, jazz, character, hip hop, and pointe. She was on the competition team for 4 years, and assisted for 7. She was also on the high school dance team for 4 years. She then attended Northwest Missouri State and taught at a competition studio for her 4 years of college. In 2014 she returned to teach at Showtime focusing mainly in Jazz. In 2016-2017 she was a member of the Iowa Energy NBA dance team. She looks forward to meeting and continuing to share her love of dance with the students!
